Current availability

Cortex 1.1 (21) is VALID, attached, and available through internal TestFlight for iPhone. The app target supports iOS 18 or later. Cortex does not support iPad, and external beta or App Store availability is not public.

Distribution work may change independently of this page. This page does not promise a release date, public beta, or acquisition access.

If Cortex will not launch

  1. Confirm the iPhone is running iOS 18 or later.
  2. If a private build was provided to your Apple Account, install the newest build available through the channel named in that invitation.
  3. Force-quit Cortex, reopen it, and restart the iPhone if needed.
  4. Check that the iPhone has free storage and that Apple’s distribution service is available.

Avoid deleting Cortex as an early troubleshooting step if the iPhone may contain the only copy of game progress or statistics you care about. Most Cortex data has no Nintek server backup.

Local progress, settings, and statistics

Cortex stores game progress, active runs, settings, records, and detailed statistics on the iPhone. If a game does not resume or a statistic looks stale, return to the Cortex hub, reopen the game, and complete a new result before restarting the app. Include the game name and what changed when contacting support.

Cortex has no custom account, Nintek gameplay server, or complete cloud backup. Nintek cannot retrieve or rebuild local data from a backend.

Troubleshoot private iCloud Sudoku sync

Only Sudoku statistics use Apple’s private iCloud key-value storage. Other game progress and active runs should not be expected to sync.

  • Confirm the iPhone is signed in to the intended Apple Account and is online.
  • In Apple Settings, confirm iCloud is available and Cortex is allowed to use iCloud when it appears in the app list.
  • Open Cortex on each relevant iPhone and allow Apple time to deliver key-value changes; sync timing is controlled by iCloud.
  • Check Apple’s system status if a recent change has not appeared.

Nintek cannot inspect, merge, force, or restore the private iCloud store. Do not delete the app while troubleshooting if an iPhone may hold the only local copy you want to keep.

Troubleshoot optional Game Center

Cortex works without Game Center. To use Apple-managed player identity, scores, leaderboards, and achievements, confirm Game Center is enabled and signed in under Apple Settings. Reopen Cortex after changing that setting and connect to the internet so pending reports can retry.

Apple controls authentication, player profiles, leaderboard records, and achievement records. Nintek cannot reset a Game Center profile, change an Apple Account, or delete Apple-held records.

Troubleshoot Quick Launch and Stats widgets

  • Open Cortex once after installing or updating it, then play or finish a game so Cortex can write a fresh App Group snapshot.
  • For Quick Launch, edit the widget and confirm the intended Cortex game is selected.
  • If Stats remains stale, open Cortex, return to the Home Screen, and allow iOS time to refresh the widget timeline.
  • Remove and add the widget again if its configuration or snapshot still does not update.

Widget refresh timing is scheduled by iOS. Removing a widget does not erase Cortex’s local game data.

Resetting a game or reinstalling Cortex

A game’s restart or reset action starts that board or run again. It does not erase all Cortex history, settings, aggregate statistics, widget data, iCloud data, or Game Center records.

Cortex currently has no single in-app erase-all control. Deleting and reinstalling the app is the complete on-device reset, and removes local app and App Group data from that iPhone. That data cannot be recovered from a Nintek server. Private iCloud Sudoku statistics may return after reinstalling, and Apple-held Game Center scores and achievements remain associated with the Apple service.

Privacy

Read the Cortex Privacy Policy for details about local storage, private iCloud Sudoku statistics, App Group widget snapshots, optional Game Center, permissions, retention, and deletion.

Third-party credits and content provenance

From the Cortex hub, open Content & Provenance to review and export the canonical notices and source ledger. They cover the retained ENABLE-derived Wordfoundry corpus and first-party or owner-attested visual sources, including six owner-generated GPT-Image-2 sheets. Former OpenMoji-derived content was removed and does not ship in the current remediation build.
